| 中文描述 | 此種罕見的疾病通常是由牛第五型疱疹病毒所引起，特徵是引發壞死性腦膜腦炎。牛第五型疱疹病毒主要分布於南美洲，其餘世界各地只有零星的病例報告。少數病例發現，牛第一型疱疹病毒也會引發小牛或成牛的腦膜腦炎。診斷方式必須由發病動物身上分離到病毒，並且在組織學檢查中發現到相關病變；通常發生於年輕牛隻。無特定治療方式；癒後極差。 |

| 英文描述 | This rare disease characterized by necrotizing meningoencephalitis is usually due to Bovine Herpesvirus type 5. BHV-5 is most common in South America, with only sporadically reported cases in other parts of the world. In a few cases BHV type 1 has caused meningoencephalitis in calves or adults. Diagnose by isolation from animals with clinical signs and histopathologic changes; most common in younger animals. There is no specific treatment; the prognosis is grave. |
